Hungry? This is what the World Economic Forum says that you and I need to be eating by 2035. That's gross! Now we know that these self proclaimed "academics" sitting around planning "OUR" future, with their 349 million dollar+ operating revenue, are not foolish enough to offer us the above pictured "sandwich" as illustrated. They will package our bugwiches in a more presentable fashion, much like they currently package our Frankenfood to look like an edible morsel of food ... and hide the toxic waste behind Monosodium glutamate (MSG) and name it a "Bugmac" maybe? Of course it may shorten life expectancy of our children but we all know that oligarchs that publically state that we have a population problem and we need to reduce the masses by two thirds, really probably have our best interest in mind. They are the unelected elites, that use philanthropic organizations to lead us poor ignorant folks.
Now one must ask the question; Do they really think that we are ignorant and naive enough to go along with the plan, in blind trust? What would give them such an idea?
We recently watched the documentary "Fed UP" and we were once again reminded of the foolishness we have shown and our willful, drug induced, ignorance concerning our "food stuffs" and how it is produced and preserved. Our unbridled propensity to satisfy ourselves to the fullest extent, with the absolute least amount of effort possible, can only lead a profit driven company to cut the costs and take shortcuts. If I was able to pronounce the names on the labeling of the glossy packaging of the foods we consume, I would find that it mainly consisted of corn, sugar, corn and corn. Sometimes if it is really nutritious it has soy. It is literally in everything we eat, the soda we drink, and the toothpaste we brush with. We eat corn with our corn....mmmm, such a diverse diet! Not only is this bad for us and severely lacking in essential phytonutrients. Our foods contain high amounts of nitrates as a residue from synthetic inputs. These nitrates morph into nitrites and bind with our Hemoglobin ( A red blood cell protein called Heme). The Hemoglobin is responsible for carrying oxygen to our cells ( organs, muscles, and brain) Once bound to the hemoglobin it converts the hemoglobin into methemoglobin. This inhibits its ability to absorb oxygen and therefore cannot deliver oxygen to the essential areas of the body. This can cause poor digestion, lack of energy to move your muscles and "brain fog". To simplify my explanation, let me use an example that we all can relate with. We have all felt exhausted and experienced those big involuntary yawns! The reason our body forced us to yawn is because our rate of breathing had slowed down, This caused us to lack the oxygen required to stay awake. We all know that when we are sleepy it is hard to focus and think critically. This is because of a lack of oxygen supply to our brain. Now let me pose a question, if we consume this amount of nitrates and our body is unable to deliver oxygen to our brain, can we be expected to think critically or have the energy to pursue a different source of nutrition? Are we really living to our full potential if we are impaired by everything we eat?
You know what? I don't care if they make toxiburgers or if they continue to make poisonous food. I do wish for it to be illegal to sell poisonous food to anyone without them knowing the full risks ( A great job for the USDA). All I want is to be guaranteed the right to be able to raise my families own food, to be able to sell my nutrient dense food to others who wish for it without interference, and to limit big foods ability to lobby. We could take down Cargill with our wallets or force them to change.
Great, healthy food starts with soil health. A sign of soil health is robust soil organisms and worms. The presence of decomposing organic matter on the surface and the diversity of plant life feed the soil. The cattle and sheep rotationally graze the tops and move to fresh spots each day, simulating the predator chasing the bison across the land. We follow with the birds about three days behind and they snatch up the bug larvae. Meanwhile the animals deposit natural fertilizer and urea around the fields, their hooves stir up the seed bank. We supplement our animals with selenium rich kelp and redmond natural salt. and they kindly deposit any of the minerals that they don't need across the land and the sun sanitizes behind the poultry. The fields need no plowing. No one plows the forest and it grows great trees that are heavy feeders. The relationship between the forest needles and leaves, the moving wildlife, the earthy worms and the nesting birds take care of every need of the land through drought, flood and sequesters millions of tons of carbon. I think that we can work with nature and nudge it along in its natural, God given, processes and gain lasting results, resistance, and all the resiliency we need to roll with the punches! I don't know why we can't seem to learn from history; everytime we think we are smart enough to outperform nature. It leads to disaster! Just look at the history of the Sahara desert or our own "dust bowl"! Oh, but we are smarter now right?
I have spent most of my adult life as a metal fabricator/welder. I have primarily been involved in the fabrication of complex mechanical assemblies and weldments. Mainly for the manufacturing/processing industry. I have come to the understanding that all engineers are not the same. They are creative and build beautiful 3D models and schematics, demonstrating their superior intelligence and aptitude. However, there is the world of 3D models and there is the world of reality, where models and reality meet. As a fabricator on the floor, we have intimate experience with the two types of engineers. The majority are well educated, talented, yet lacking in practical experience. Some (typically the older ones) have gained experience, either by being directly involved with the tradesmen on the floor, or from listening to the advice and feedback from the men who bring their dreams into reality. The younger engineers and technicians, seem to generally lack the basic experience and willingness to listen to the fabricators. I believe this comes from our society separating the "educated" from the doers. I would like to see all of them spend one year on the shop floor as part of their education and gain a respect and an understanding of the practical limitations of humans. This paradigm extends through out our society as a whole and directly affects our food. I'll paraphrase Joel Salatin and repeat a line from his book FIELDS OF FARMERS. "It seems silly that folks, who maybe even grew up on "Farms" , could not figure out how to make a living for themselves on the farm. Ended up going to Virginia Tech, got an Ag degree, joined the USDA and then proceed to tell others how to make money on the farm." It's intellectual schizophrenia! Why do we listen to these folks? Now I am not against education! I love knowledge and love to learn! But I believe we need to be learning and following the advice of people who prove themselves and their theories practically. This extends to our food "manufacturers" ( We used to say food growers). We have folks in lab coats creating our food under the direction of a board of $2000 suits and accountants who's sole driving motto is "Profit before Health" and have their hands in the Pharmaceutical pot so if you get sick they make more on the treatment end. Kind of like a "Loss leader". Notice that I said treatment and not cure. There is no profit to be made in a cure! This is why we are so quick to mask the symptoms with chemicals and not address the underlying issues. This is criminal!
Let's not procrastinate and wait for our Politicians to legislate our way out of this mess! History teaches us that Bureaucrats and lobbyists have their bottom line as their priority, not our health and wellbeing. It's up to us! And we are running out of time fast! It starts with our consumption habits! We know our best interest is not their concern or priority. It is up to us to take responsibility and stop delegating our health to "professional profiteers". If we stop eating corn with our corn, and washing it down with corn, the farmers just might stop growing corn and grow what the consumer wants. Their consumers are corporations, maybe if we undercut the pharma food industry and let the farmers know what we want they will choose to feed us! they can refuse the Tax dollar stipends and grants and earn their living from us. I recently heard a quote that applies to the farmer taking grants. "With shekels comes shackles" How true and only a farmer can relate. Let me pose a question to you folks who are still convinced that you pay less for your food then proceed to give, three times as much, away to the medical mafia. Do you think its ok for a farmer to have as nice a house and vehicle as you? Are they beneath you, Of a lesser class? I mean one that's paid for and a living that is theirs. We've all seen the farmers with fancy tractors and huge payments. Folks that's smoke and mirrors, they differ debt from year to year and the government pays our tax dollars towards the big machines so we can deplete more and more land. Don't get me wrong, I am not anti- farmer! Im anti-poison! Anti-Farm Cartel! Our dollars should be supporting our farmers directly, Not passing through multiple hands and paying for a new mahogany desk in some USDA office.
This is the year! I won't support it any longer, whatever I can't grow myself I will work to find someone who does. It will require me to get to know my neighbors, talk with real humans, socialize with folks who are different than me, support local businesses and get off my couch and take some responsibility for my family. It can be done, maybe not all at once but if I take action I can make progress and effect change. I have one last example of how the there is extra value built into shopping locally. We have a few cows and I have been on the lookout to grow our herd. I recently came across a great deal on five red angus cows in Idaho. We have a small stock trailer that can handle a few cows but not five! We purchase as much of our farm supplies as possible from our local farm supply who then in turn buys our feed through a local non-gmo farm. I decided to give the owner a call and see if he knew of anyone that had a larger stock trailer that I could rent and haul the cattle back in one trip. It turns out he has a big one and offered his trailer for FREE! Not only that but we get better pricing on Broiler chicks than we can get them from the big hatcheries, They allow us to market some of our farm produce through their business, we get excellent customer service and I believe we have gained some friends for life! Shopping local will repay you in more ways than you know! Help us farmers bring whole foods to you by letting us know that you want it. I promise you, farmers will rise to the challenge and provide! We are a rare breed and tough as nails!
Readers, this starts with food, and grows into us manufacturing more products locally again! Maybe one day I may see locally made clothing again! I'LL order some pants!
